Lets take a dip into the daily lives of a group of Winchester students...

In House 34 live five students who for the past three years have been family as well as friends. They've had fun times and been there through the hard times together. 'A Day in the Life of House 34' explores what things they get up to during a normal day and what it is like to be a student. Is it really the stereotype everybody thinks of?

Being in a relationship and living together is taking its toll on Jon and Hannah.

The girls love nothing better than a chit-chat on the new rug from Ikea, of course.

A BBQ is the best way to end the day, and allows Jon (the only male housemate) to feel like the pack leader.

Camden, City and Colour and City Tours.

For the boyfriends birthday I got us tickets to go and see the amazing City and Colour at the Roundhouse in Camden Town and we finally went yesterday after having waited for months!

We started our two day venture by hitting the Camden markets.

A Crazy Big Horse Head?!

Then finally it was 7pm. Dallas was even better than I imagined. For those of you unfamiliar with Dallas Green check out the video below - a song from his new album.

Every second he sang was just incredible. Singing songs from his first album he performed alone but for songs from the second and third album he was joined by his band (I was a little anxious to see whether it would sound the same with a band as he originally began on his own, but they worked great together).

The supporting act was a guy named Hanni El Khatib from LA who was pretty good! He's got this kind of old country sound to him.

The Roundhouse was a really cool venue. Pretty obvious really but it is a massive round building although the stage area is really intimate so even though we were high up in the circle we could still see really clearly - the band weren't far away at all. The only annoying thing is that there are 21 pillars which depending on your seat can obstruct the view. Luckily we had great seats in between pillars.

We stayed in the Camden Lock Hotel which was literally opposite the Roundhouse and only 2 minutes from a Salisbury's. On the outside it looks a bit grotty but our room was lovely and clean and so cosy! They don't have a 'closing' time either so it didn't matter what time the gig finished.

On Wednesday we went for a three hour open top bus tour which was AMAZING! I've always wanted to go on one of them and the lovely boyfriend got us some tickets. It was absolutely freezing though so by the end of the tour holding my camera was near impossible as I couldn't feel my hands.

Photoshop Fun

I have a module which is called Photo and Documentary Journalism which is great, we literally just get to take lots of pictures and capture that Kodak Moment.

We recently spent a lesson on photo shop learning how to edit and change images - below is the image I made!!

 

I can't wait to try it on my own photos!

This year I have the greatest lecture ever, Photo and Documentary Journalism. I literally just get to take pictures all the time!

I have always enjoyed taking photos (getting that Kodak moment!) and loved going through my mum's countless photo albums back in the day when you had to get the photos developed!! I loved being able to actually look through the photos on my lap so much that even now when I can just look at my computer I choose to get my photos printed off and put into photo albums.

Today after the lecture we had great fun taking photos at uni, here are some of the efforts:

I think there was something about that pose that Sammy liked today!....

For the majority of these pictures I used a setting on my camera called 'pin hole' which I really like. For the next few pictures I asked Jenni to make expressions based on what I told her to feel...

...Something a little art

3 for 2 = Spend more money on things I don't really need but secretly do.

So, I went to Boots to buy a new eyeliner because I genuinely needed one but to my joy/horror (I'm not sure which one) there was a 3 for 2 offer on all makeup. So of course I walk out of Boots with an eyeliner, a lipstick and a primer.

I really like having a sweet little eye liner flick on my eyes and usually use quite a thick pen-like brush but I decided to go with something really thin to see if I could get a different effect. I chose Rimmel Glam Eyes in Black Glamour 001.

I really like it but it is taking me a while to get used to the different tip - being thinner it does create a better flick in the corners of my eyes I guess it's just practise with the rest of it!

In the 3 for 2 offer I decided to go for a lipstick. I already have two but both in red so I went for a more red/coral colour by Rimmel again but it's Kate Moss's new lasting finish collection in 12 Rosetto/Rouge. The packing is really nice in a matt black with Kate written along the top. I know that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but when it comes to makeup you can't help but love it for its packaging. I would by mould if it was packaged pretty enough.

Lastly I got myself Rimmel's Fix & Perfect Pro Primer. As much as this was a sort of impulse buy I have been looking at getting a primer for a while. For ages now I have used an Olay moisturiser with a touch of Max Factor foundation and have loved it but started to feel like I didn't get the coverage that I had done before so I started to use a Rimmel foundation over the top - Rimmel Match Perfection Cream Gel Foundation.

Then I tried a moisturiser by Chanel which I loved. I got a free sample when I got some perfume and it lasted me a good few weeks - it was so lovely. Really smooth on my face but at nearly £50 for a small tub...it was a little too out of my budget. If you ever want to indulge in a designer face cream go into House of Fraser or Debenhams (wherever there is a good selection of Chanel, or whatever you choose) and ask for testers. They have loads!!

Then I moved onto something a little different...Sudocrem. Yes I know it's for babies bums but honestly it has been lovely on my skin. It's great for occasional spots and because of it's drying effect I went the whole day without becoming greasy. However I am a little worried that along with the cold weather which is approaching it will dry out my skin which is never good.

Now I am onto the Rimmel Primer. So far I am liking it. It claims 5 results in one 1 product; Smoothes, resurfaces, brightens, mattifies, protects. Going from such a drying cream on my face it does feel really lovely but whether it does all of the above I'm not sure! My foundation does go on very well (but it already did without the primer) and my skin is left feeling soft and perhaps bright?...
